"The Easter Bunny Show"

The Easter Bunny Show is also known as The Sydney Royal Easter Show. Don't be fooled, the only bunnies you will find are in the animal section and you will not find anything especially Easter ish in all 100+ miles of this "show." This misnomer was especially irritating to CH as he was really confused on when we would actually get to the Easter Show. Despite the misnomer, it was terrific! The Show is best described as the biggest and cleanest fair you can imagine. It is HUGE! Gigantic, you actually can not imagine how big it is! And it is so clean even the animals don't really smell as bad as they do at any other fair I have ever been to. We went this year and had a ball. We arrived early and beat most of the crowds. I hear driving out there can be awful but we left early and the weather was not the greatest so we had no trouble getting to Sydney Olympic Park, and no trouble parking. We stayed all day and even skipped our nap we had so much fun. Crazy, I know!

My pictures show all of the kids stuff. There is so much to see and do no matter what your age or interest. I would have loved to have spent more time in the fresh food dome, they had all kinds of things to taste(wine and chocolate!), learn, and see. The cakes and the crafts and art looked impressive! You could spend three days at the show and not see everything!

Toward the end of the day, you could really feel Fall in the air. I have so many good memories of Fall and fairs and none of those memories contained Easter. Time for a new norm and a new nostalgia I suppose!

Sheep Shearing

Alpaca...aka palpaca

Fancy cow stall complete with curtains!

Fonzy, Oz's tallest steer!

Hot Air Balloons, we spent $75 riding rides. I hear family day you can ride 2 for 1!

CH is a "roller coaster" enthusiasts! We were shocked! He cried when he had to get off the rides. The usual daredevil CM cried and asked to get out of line multiple times!

The flying elephants. He would not do a real smile for me...he would only do an embarrassed smile, as if he was ashamed of his fall from the spot as family daredevil.

This man ate 2 dagwood(corn) dogs, one hot dog, sweet nuts, and 1/2 corn on the cob, plus the snacks I brought from home.  At the end of the show he informed us his tummy hurt!

Riding Gordon, $15.

One of the highlights for us was the agility competition! We saw the  "minor leagues" and we all loved it!

  1. Wow, what a fun and busy day. Feeding the goats, riding a tractor as well as the roller coasters. Tell CH that I'm so proud of him for being so brave and riding all the rides. Maybe when we go to Disney in a few years, he can take me on the roller coasters!! CH is looking like he needs that "Chemist" after all he ate! I bet Emma would have been great in the agility show. She's gotten pretty good at catching the ball in the air.
